Taiping Taiping was only an hour by bus from Butterworth Bus Terminal. The Taiping Bus Station is situated about 10 minutes via Taxi from Taiping Central which was a bit of a hassle as there is no Grab in Taiping and the old taxi's didn't want to take us with all of our luggage. A bit of haggling later and we were on our way. We stayed at a newish hotel about 2 blocks from the mall called The Louis Hotel. It was a comfortable and clean room although rather small! The downside was it was located opposite the wet market, which meant it stank everytime we left the hotel. It was a good experience for the kids but I think I'd book the Ibis if the prices were similar (depends on current deals).
